‘Were it not for shadows,
there would be no beauty’

Tanizaki, J. (1933). In’ei Raisan (In praise of shadows)

MOON

MOON captures a perception of the feminine that goes beyond simple beauty. Within this collection, beauty and subtlety can elaborate a much more powerful and complex message than the simple capacity to captivate.

The collection, like the moon, shines blue, white and yellow, filtering into the edges of darkness where the merest hints of light create detail, texture, and form guiding shadows towards beauty’s ends. ‘Pushing back into the shadows the things that come forward too clearly’.*
